Standard Form is used for writting either very big or very small numbers.
In a calculator or in any other place you can recognise Standard Form by how it is written:
e.g.
Standard Form is always a number (x) times 10 to any power (y).
x * 10y
The power can be either negative or positive, if it is a positive number, the decimal point moves to the right, it is a negative power, the decimal point moves to the left.
